Towers

11 Sep

A picture perfect blue day
Shimmering sunshine through late summer trees
Puttering around in a little red Celica
Class to class, opening the Word
On the way in the news comes through
Accident at the WTC
Accident it is, I think
Little plane lost, must be
So as the tower smolders, on I teach
Oblivious to the scene unfolding in NYC
On the way to class number two, on the radio I hear
Plane number two
It can’t be
Picture perfect blue now overtaken by smoke
What was strange to me at 8:55 is now sinister
As the towers fall down
And everything changes.
