Behold Your God — Week Two Introduction

4 Jun

In week one we came face to face with the fact that God should be the Great Attraction in our lives. We should be endlessly fascinated with God and live our lives based on who He is rather than in our own strength or for our own glory. But most of us do not live with God as our Great Attraction. So week two of the Behold Your God study focuses on clearing the way for our return. We want to come back to knowing God as the center of our lives but we are sinful, prone to wander. So this week we will be looking at how we can truly know God and how we can return to Him if we have known Him but have drifted away. This week’s studies are intensely personal and critical to the rest of the study. If you deal seriously with your heart this week, you will find the rest of the study will be a great benefit to you. This week will be painful but this is a good kind of pain, for the pain of confronting the state of your heart will produce a deeper fellowship with God, the Great Attraction.

This week’s verse for meditation . . .

James 4:8, “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.”
